Volunteering: The 'Heart of the House' is our Volunteer program. The volunteers serve in many ways, helping to make the House a comfortable and supportive place for the families. The caring and cheerful volunteers are the first voice you hear on the telephone and the first smiling face you see at the door.
Whether it's planning and coordinating an evening family activity, supplying and cooking a meal for the families, being part of the cleaning crew, or committing to volunteer on a shift each week, our volunteers make this House special.
Volunteers staff our office every night from 5-9 p.m. Volunteer shifts are also available during the day and on weekends to assist our regular staff.
All persons who serve as volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be responsible to volunteer as scheduled. Volunteer duties are varied - depending on the day of the week, time of day, occupancy rate, and number of families.
Students: There are several volunteer activities specially suited for high school students. If you are interested in learning about student opportunities, please contact us at 701-258-8551.
